Whose Junk?
After graduating in Furniture Design at UCA, Rachel has since moved to build her career in furniture restoration. Taking as many opportunities as she can to develop a wide range of practical skills, including branching out into traditional and modern upholstery and completing 2 years of study at London Metropolitan University. On top of her degree and further studies she has over a decade of specialist experience in Mid-Century furniture restoration and specialist renovation and restoration site work. Both on Private and commercial sites.
Rachel also has a passion for salvage and ecology, aiming to reduce the number of unused objects around her, reduce the amount of waste we produce, and new objects we create when what can be found already around us still have life left to be uncovered. It is through restoration that we can challenge the modern concept of planned obsolescence and celebrate lasting timeless design.
